Okay people, I'm for real this time. I'm going to start working out. That's it. I've posted. I can't can't turn back now.
I've been working out here and there, but not on any regular basis. I have this desire to be one of those people who loves to work out...who loves to run... who loves to eat salad for every meal with no dressing (okay, maybe that's crossing the line), but I'm just not. I love the feeling I get after I'm done working out, but it seems that's not enough to actually get me going...
Now, I haven't really come up with a solution other than to just do it. So that's what I'm going to do.
I'm just going to do it.
No more procrastinating.
No more rationalizing.
Now, knowing myself like I do... this new found resolution is not going to last long--hence the post, I figured this might extend my dedication. Are there any suggestions out there? Please make them! Anybody!!

Alli! You are hilarious! This is my advice to you. You should get a workout buddy. Someone that is just as motivated as you, because then you will have to go so you don't stand up the person you are working out with. I would offer myself, but I have a lot on my plate right now...if you know what I mean. :) You are the cutest!
You Go for it Girl! Making it public knowledge will help you with your commitment. I know that you can do it. I'm trying to do the same thing. Sister Berg has inspired me. I haven't actually posted it on my blog but maybe I will. Then it will make me more accountable. Good Luck Alli!
I agree you need a work-out buddy and a routine, your buddy doesn’t need to be as dedicated/motivated as you, as long as they feel the obligation to go with you. Make your buddy commit, so that if they try to cancel they feel like they have let you down...a friend of mine and I had this arrangement for a whole month before Christmas and it worked, we went because the image of me/her working out alone made us feel bad...then Christmas break happened and because of schedules we haven’t been back....I am NOT motivated but then you see my husband who is in the Gym 3-4 times a week and eats good, let me tell you he looks amazing....and here I am typing eating my yummy cinnamon role! Go carbs!!
Alli! Come to the step class at the school at 5! I'm really trying to go there every day! It's fun!
You go grilie, you can do it!! For the record you are one of the lucky few that can get away with not going to the gym and still have a rockin body but I understand wanting to feel healthy, there is nothing better. I think that the biggest thing is just getting to the point where you decide that you have had enough and what you are doing just is not working. That making the effort of getting to the gym hurts less than looking in the mirror or feeling unhealthy. You also need to find something fun to do while you are there...music you only listen to at the gym, a magazine you only read at the gym something that will entertain your brain while you are there so you do not get bored. It never gets "easy" but it becomes a little more fun. And if that fails just move to Vegas and go with me...we will kick each others butts to the gym. I love you and miss you...good luck...you can do it!!
Caroline say: don't overdo it the first couple of weeks. Setting realistic goals keeps you from burning out or getting injured. I added four minutes on a stair-stepper every week and am up to... well... not many minutes, but am still doing it consistently. :) Be strong!!
Hey!! I'm so glad we're blog buddies, yay! How are things? I hope you're doing well, and good luck with working out! You can do it!! :)
Yeah another blogging buddy! I am so excited. Good luck with the working out thing. I need all the help I can get myself. Let me know if you find anything that works for you.
Alli...sorry I haven't been reading your blog but I didn't know how to get there. I just found out and I love ALL of your postings. You are totaly clever. I love reading and looking. You are so funny. You can make it at the gym, I know you can. I love you and Mckay.

Hey Wubbie.....I was thinking I might come out next week...we can go get some ice cream and fries...after that I'd like to go to a movie and get buttered popcorn...perhaps afterwards we can have a few chocolate donuts then go out for dinner...I'm thinking Chinese Food would be great...we can then both have heart attacks which would provide a valid reason for not working out...you can't work out when you're in Intensive Care....
Love Dad
my best advice is to have a reward. so lets say you work out everyday or whatever you goal is for like 3 months straight...then you have earned a new shirt, or somthing like that...maybe this works of maybe its just a way to justify buying something cute for yourself:) or resort back to a star chart, each day you work out you get a star, and then when you fill up your calandar your hubby can pic the prize, making it suprise!
Alli
Good for you!! I was having the same problem, so I signed up to run a half marathon. Yikes!! Once you pay the fee for the race, you feel like you have to do the work to actually be able to participate. There was another girl who kept her makeup at the gym. Pretty good motivation to get to the gym, eh? Good luck

I have the same problem, I go to the gym for like a week and then stop! by the way I love your blog "decor" it is so cute!
So, this is about a month later, how are you doing? Still working out? I would just add one thing, don't listen to your dad! (just kidding) Working out is kind of like following the teachings of our savior (only not as important), you will start out all excited, going every day. Then you will start questioning yourself. Should I go, will missing once make that big of a deal?
The answer is no, it's not such a big deal, until you find yourself asking that question everyday and finally you stop going because you are so far behind you don't think it matters. So what I would say to you is don't kick your self for those days you miss, just get up the next time and say I will do it today!
And I agree with the person who signed up for a half-marathon, once you commit to something like that you are more inclined to train for it.
Kristin, Lindsay and I have signed up for the Susan G. Komen 3 Day walk for breast cancer. We will be walking 60 miles in 3 days in August! And believe you me I am dedicated to the notion that I will do this walk and not be dead after it!
I love you and miss you!!!
