We're college graduates!
I can't believe we are actually college graduates. Let me tell you, this age is definitely a lot younger than I thought it was four years ago. The time went by so quickly.
I have been so grateful for my time at BYU-Idaho. I have come to love this university. I feel I have grown academically, emotionally and spiritually. One of the greatest things I have been taught is how to learn.
BYU-Idaho has implemented a great thing: The Learning Model. In essence it entails a three-step process: preparation, teaching, and pondering. When the instructor comes to class with a lesson that has been prepared with the spirit [which does not mean the lesson is 'gospel saturated'], and the students come prepared with the material while seeking guidance and understand from the spirit, a higher-level of learning takes place. Teacher-to-student learning has been abandoned and spirit-to-spirit learning has taken place. Through practicing this model of learning, I have been taught that "by the power of the Holy Ghost [I] may know the truth of all things" [Moroni 10:5].
Another crucial step in this learning process is teaching one another. The Learning Model says students will 'teach to learn and learn to teach. When students teach diligently, they receive deeper insight and are instructed more perfectly (see D&C 88:78).'
I have seen this process implemented in many areas of my life. I find greater satisfaction in my gospel study and family living as I follow this principle of spirit-to-spirit learning and teaching.
I didn't mean to go on for so long about the learning model. However, it has altered my learning style and has in-turn altered the quality of my life. I feel I wouldn't be 'doing my duty' as a BYU-Idaho Alumnus if I didn't pass along the quality of learning that takes place at this fine university. If you want to learn more about the learning model, click here.
As far as our future goes, we're still waiting to hear back from two dental schools: UNLV [in Vegas] and Midwestern University [in Arizona]. Makay has had interviews with both schools. We should know where we're going before the end of the month...hopefully.
The pregnancy is going well, and I'll post some pictures of the belly in a little while. I only have three weeks left! Yay, I can't wait to see my little one...

Oh my gosh!! You are so beautiful! The picture of you kissing...the air...or perhaps, making a kissy face... is beautiful. I miss you guys, and am totally excited to see your little boy! YEAH!
First of all I need to say that you are absolutely, stunningly, take my breath away beautiful!! You guys look so happy and I am SO proud of you!! I cannot wait for you guys to hear back from the schools and find myself wishing multiple times a day that you could just move here...now. I miss you guys so so SO much and just need some "alli" time. Jared was talking the other day about sending me out there. I will give you time with mom and the baby and then depending on what you need I will come. But for the record, I can come at ANY time, I am only a phone call away!
