I took Maddux on a walk yesterday through the Nature Park here in Rexburg. The sun finally broke through the rainy clouds [who have been unwelcome visitors for the past two weeks]. As I was walking past the ponds I came to the old, dilapidated bridge that found its way into my heart over 3 1/2 years ago. This bridge was where Makay and I stood on our second date. I can still see us leaning againts the wood railing completely enthralled in conversation. I remember the butterflies that swarmed my stomach each time he looked at me with those blue eyes. I remember thinking I couldn't be any happier than I was at that moment.
Now I stood in the same spot with our son. I tried to remember back to the time when our little Maddux wasn't with us. It's hard for me to even conceive the thought that he hasn't been with me forever. There was a time when I thought I knew what happiness was, but I was wrong. I've never before experienced the joy that has been accompanied with my little baby.

Things to remember about Maddux's first month:
- You had Jaundice for about 2 1/2 weeks. Your poor feet were pricked 6 times for blood tests. Mom stood outside the door and cried her eyes out when they drew blood for your PKU test.
- You smile unconsciously when you're sleeping. It is the cutest thing.
- Dad tried to pull your onesie off without unbuttoning it. Your poor little head was 'delivered' again. Your hair was a sight to be seen.
- Your hair has gone from jet black to brown.
- You love when mom takes you on walks in your stroller.
- You love to sleep on mom and dad's chest.
- You always pee on mom when she changes you; however, you never pee on dad.
- You're starting to sleep for 6 hours at night.
- You weighed 8 pounds at your two week appointment.
- Your hands and feet are huge.
- You always put your hand straight up in the air with your fist clenched. Dad thinks you're trying to say, "Power to the people!"
- You're a pretty mellow baby. You usually only cry when you're hungry.
- You're starting to focus on things around you. You will look at the circling fish mobile on top of your swing.
- Your eyes have gone from charcoal to dark blue.
- Everyone always comments on your hair.
- You are the most beautiful baby I have every seen...
